I personally Love braids. They are classic, simple, and if used correctly very elegant. If you want to bring the best of both worlds together, Natural yet classic and sleek, the braid is for you.

Acadamy Awards Hair - Best and Worst Styles

I cannot even begin to express how disappointed I was with this years Oscar hair. I mean was the look of the night “get out of bed and throw your hair up"? As uneventful the night was, there were still a few looks that stood out above all of the catastrophes.

Alright lets start with the BEST styles first. My favorites of the night would have to be ... drum roll please...

Demi Moore-

Demi's stylist went with the trend of the night, a chick up-do style, but did not go over board with the editorial idea. This style was fun and messy, with just the right amount of polish. I love the tendril in the front that, by the way, stayed in place all night. I was also impressed with the messy, low style in back. The loose peice on the bottom tied the front together with the back. It was done perfectly. With her beautiful dress, Demi looked striking.

Maggie Gyllenhaal-

Maggie's style was, what I think, is the perfect Oscar look. It is elegant and yet trendy, and was the perfect accessory to her look. The front, pulled back, but not too tightly, gives it a more casual up styled look. The back, twisted into an intricate design that is not too tight or polished, helps it tie to the front. Her hairpin is perfect for the effect of this style. I loved this look.

Kate Winslet-

Now on any other Oscar night, this probably would not have been a favorite, but with so many let downs, an even somewhat simple look makes the list. Kate's stylist went with a down style, which is bold for this award show, but pulled it off beautifully. The loose barrel curl is stunning on Kate. Her hair is shiny and perfect with minimal fly a ways. This style was a winner in my book.

Carey mullagin-

Okay, I know that this is not a "hairstyle" per say, but come on. She looks stunning with her short boy cut! I cannot decide if the blonde color is the best shade for her, but the cut is perfect! I would say this was my favorite look of the night!

Now for the WORST styles

Kathryn Bigelow-

She won for best director, her movie won best picture, and now I am giving her the worst hair award. I am sorry, but this literally fell flat in my books. I mean come on; it looks like she did it herself! This had no body, no movement, nothing.

The next style is obvious

Sarah Jessica Parker-

I do not know what the stylist was thinking with this one. This style is awful! Let us go straight to the elephant in the room. What is with the frizz? It looks like she was having a little "sex in the city" right before the show. Then there are the god-awful looped loops in the back. I mean it looks like the stylist picked out a giant hairpiece and just stuck it to the back of her head! It has to be one of the worst styles. It is a shame. She usually has great red carpet hair.

This was my least favorite style of the night-

Vera Farminton-

This is probably my least favorite style. I understand she was going for a retro 30's style, but it just is not finished. It looks like the stylist didn't have a vision for the style and just kinda threw it all over the place. The bun in the back was a cute fit, but the front looks awful. Not even the precious 30's diamond leaf broach pin they put in the back could save this style.

That is my opinon on the 2010 acadamy award Hairstyles :)
